No you are not hitting a nerve. We cannot tell by a couple of pictures what happened to your car.

I am so sorry but you really need to take it to someone in your area for a second opinion and/or back to the shop where you had it tinted.

There are some good tinters in your area on this site tint magician being one of them maybe you could contact them and see if they would br willing to look at your car in person.

maybe if you go in and ask them politely they will fix it for you...it looks like an easy fix...just some spray adhesive under the fabric and stretch it back over the panel.
