metalized film interferance on back windows

Yes you can seam it in the right place, but even now, some antennae are integrated in with the same lines used for defroster. So, seaming or splicing isn't a one-size-fits-all answer for it.

CPF has studied the phenomenon for the past few years and actually found the answer as to why. Sharing what was found is not an option so we'll squash that before it gets asked.

Next spring is when LLumar's ATX (AXcess) film will be readily available. It is a new solar control deposition technology neither a metal, nor is it a ceramic, but it will give performance values equal to or greater than their current ATR Charcoal.

It was intro'd at SEMA with a technical demonstration on how a traditional auto, 30% dye/metal and a traditional ceramic, 30% film product disrupts AM signal compared with ATX.

These same three film types have been video taped being installed to an 06 Chrysler 300 with the same results occurring. Only ATX did not disrupt the AM radio, which was playing during the taping.

As much a crap shoot RF interference is, at least there will be a more affordable high performance film available so straight-dyed, low performing films will not have to be the choice.
