Steel wool what type how fine?

Srubbies. They have a 12 pack of various colors and grades at the dollar store and I get a case of them at a time. I don't do many removals anyway. Plus I have a steamer that helps out alot

00 Grade (Australian) I steel wool every rear screen, gets those demister bars shining!!

I used 000 & 409 cleaner last weekend on a remove. Worked great.

00 or 000 in Oz we find it reliable even on some of ya softer glass types,

I've never used steel wool, always used no scratch scrubbies. So im assuming steel wool won't scratch the glass correct?

One other thought, Do you use some kind of mechanical device or do you go mosly by hand?

all by hand. ultra fine steel wool and some simple green. hold your breath and scrub away.

ditto here, just use sprayway have had problems with scrub pads breaking defroster lines on rear window steamer is the way to go

Ive never used steel wool either but now im kinda tempted to try it...I have a question though, have you ever had a problem with it leaving rust spots? I once had a car in that had rust spots between the tint and the glass as well as a bunch of rusty spots at the bottom of the hatch, and I always thought that it could have been caused by the pieces of steel wool left behind..that a possibility?
