Tint Instructions For Newbies !

Recommended Posts

So, you want to tint the front windows on your new SUV, and don't want to pay big bux for a Pro to do it ?

Here is how to DIY !

1st: Go buy 12 boxes of film at Wallyworld, and anything that looks like it can be used for film installation.

2nd: Toss out the instructions, REAL MEN do not need them !

3rd: Remove film from from box, set it on the outside of the window. Take the knife (with the window up) and cut the film to fit the window. Press HARD so you are sure to get all the way through the film !

4: Remove film and spray the OUTSIDE of the window with lots of water.

5: Squgee out the water, and VOILA! you are done and saved a buncha cash !

What ? you drove off and the film did not stay on the window ?

6: Call a friend and find out the film should go on the inside of the window.

Repeat steps 1-5 this time installing the film on the inside of the window.

Whats that ? You put the window down, and the film came off the window ? You did not get ALL the water squegeed out ! Get a fresh piece of tint, repeat steps 1-5, this time pressing REAl hard for about 10 min to get all the water out ! The film came off AGAIN when you put the window down ?

Might just be a bad box of film, try again with a fresh piece from another box, that should do the trick !

Still not sticking ? Might be defective glass used on your SUV when it was built.

Take SUV back to dealer for Warranty work to replace the bad window. Tell them you read on the Internet a bad window can keep window film from sticking to it, and you DEMAND a new window NOW!

The folks at the Dealership finally kicked you out and told you where to stick your window ? Don't despair !

Here is a Tint Shop right by the Dealer ! Stop in, they might give you some tips !

He will do it now, and show you how it is done, in the future you will be know the Right way to do it !

Hey ! It looks great ! (except for the gouges you put in the window from cutting film on it so many times)

It was expensive, too, 12 boxes of film, misc supplies, and paying the PRO to do it.

Moral, save yourself much time and $$ and let a PRO do it in the beginning !
