Not if it's been notated in the contract/Reciept and signed by the custy. No liability, No warranty. Just ran into the same scenario this morning! :dunno

And 1Peec is right, a history of glass breakage voids warranty. BUT, I tell customers that since the glass is out of warranty, (and alot are) there isn't an issue. Our glass breakage warranty is to protect a custy, whose window are still in warranty so that in case of breakage/seal failure when Anderson, Pella, etc tell them film voids the MFGRs warranty, they are still covered for the duration of the ORIGINAL MFGRs warranty!! No one to my knowledge will put another 5 years on 10 year old glass.

Still not worth it... Why tint broken windows? Even if you can sign away your liability which is not as b*mb-proof as some may believe... What image does film on a broken windows give? :dunno

I guess the point we've all missed (Myself included :dunno ) Is that the seal is already broken. So no problem with tinting it. And since my previous post, I called 3 major MFGRs about glass seal warranty issues. EVERYONE, dig out a copy of your warranty papers and read them carefully. They ALL state that an original MFGrs warranty MUST be active at the time of install. The Glass MFGRs will void thier warranty once film is applied, Our film warranty covers the custy in case of failure. But in no case will there be an "extension" of the original warranty! And in the case of new windows will often not be nearly as long as the original. Some even charge like .25 per square for the coverage!! Be careful how you represent this. It could come back on ya!!! :lol:lol

And I misquoted in my previous post. Most film G/B warrantys are limited to no more than 3 years on seal failure, so if the windows are new and have a 20 year warranty, once film is appled that warranty drops down to 3 yrs. Call yer reps and ask, or better yet call the factory. (I did!!) I learned alot and now have my fingers crossed!!! :lol2:lol
