I used to surf San Onofre when I was a kid. Stopped by the Wedge many times but was to chicken or smart enough not to go out on those big days. That wave is awesome sounding.

I don't think I'd short board out there though... It looks like it closes out a bit quickly.

It's the backwash coming back out to sea that really makes things interesting when it hits an incoming wave. I've seen them suddenly triple in size.
