I am a Solo-Mobile window tinter. I have set up a few "dealership" accounts that keep me fairly busy on the automotive side. My Residential / commercial end could use a boost. I have been thinking of hiring a "commission only" outside sales-person to go out and generate some installs for me. I just wonder if anyone else has sales people, how pay is structured, how basically to handle the whole thing. Any advice wil help... thanks in advance...k.b.

First of all, to be a real business you must pay him a base, or call it draw against commission.

Second, if you supply leads pay him 20% of gross and if he provides lead from cold call prospecting let him pay you 1.00 per sqft to install the film.

All jokes aside, 20% with lead and 40% without

Cut the pie 5 ways

20% sale comm

20% tint material

20% Installation labor

20% for overhead business exp

20% +/- profit margin

If you don't pay people right, you should not expect any thing in return
