Advice needed

hi guys, this is my first post.

the problem is I just started tinting the other day and I need some advice on how to do it, what film to use etc. the problem I had was that when I had cut the film the perfect size, I had a right hard time trying to make it the right size of the window (shrinking). the air/soap gaps would not go away, and in the end I think I just ended up over heating the film. the film I got was from halfords, the brand name "savage", which cost 16 pounds.

I did alot of research into how to tint, but just not enough hands on experience. I am currently using my vauxhall corsa at the minute to practice on, on the back windows (UK LOL)

any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Everyone has their own preferance as far as film brand goes, NOTHING beats hands on exp., find a inexpensive film, ALL mfg. make one or 2, and just practice, practice, and practice............... When you think you've got it down, practce some more. :spit

Lots of good info on the site, just look around, and read up some more.

:twocents to the board, good luck with your adventure :spit

im from sunderland. BTW, how much should I spend on a 30" by 60" sheet? I paid 16 quid for the one at halfords! I baught one off ebay aswell, but couldnt be bothered to wait for it and went to halfords cos I was so eager to get tinting. I now have some by a company called silver style. looks like cheap shite tbh, but I dont wanna spend to much. is the soap-water heat-gun-shrink method a good method to use in the freezing cold ?

Are you just planning to do your own car or are you tring to set up in business.

Your not going to learn anything using Halfords film or use film from ebay, most of the film sold on ebay is crap.

The better the film the easier the job.

Best bet is to dry shrink.

Were in Dorset but would be able to supply you with full or part rolls.

iv been on youtube. thiers only so mcuh I can learn by watching pixelated videos. I need words to describe to me the basics. I am just planning on doing my own car. I dont understand what part roll or full roll is. I dont know what the different technologies are. I would like some basic advice; a string for which to find my way. however, I may do other cars if I can get the technique right. thanks
