Have this residential job I mentioned before for a buddies grandfather's house. First off huge 25 year old house with huge entry windows. The entry is like 20 ft from floor to ceiling and the largest center windows are 72 5/8 inches wide and 105 inches tall stacked on top of each other with a pointed at the top square window above them. They are tempered lightly factory tinted dual pane windows with wood frames. I know I know, why cant the damn things be 72 inches wide and not have the extra 5/8 to deal with. Would you seam it horizontally or vertically or would you talk him into letting you put up some wood edging around the windows to match the frames so you wouldnt have to have a seam? I am only asking because I will be working off a 19inch wide platform about 15 feet up...I am only putting up a 50% Llumar film on it. They are wanting something to help with fading before they put all new carpeting in the house. Oh did I mention the there is a marble staircase with a landing about a 2 feet from the windows in question......UGH!!!! Sorry no pictures. And yes, I charged a boatload for the install...

I would seam it straight down the middle where the top window comes to a point. It will make it an easier install. My first preference would be to put up some timber edging so I could do it one piece. Either way :lol2

That sucks to be just 5/8 too wide. I would try talking him into wood edging or caulking if possible, splicing it would suck but on the bright side you wouldn't have such a big piece to work with then. We usually seam horizontally when it has to be done, if you do it vertical you'll have to pull 105 twice and may make more waste :lol2

OK, seriously, I did a big azz window similar to that, mine was 75" wide, and 13' tall, granted it was in frost film, not solar but here's what I did :lol2

Well, If it was me, I'd lay the 72" piece, and then cut a strip about 1 1/2" and overlap it a smig, then trim it, and walla it's done, but what do I know, I'm just a midget man :lol2
