3rd brake lights

Depends on the car. If it is a very square rear brake light, I use a ruler. If it is a curve brake light then I just cut it out. As said before steady hand and a good eye helps. Having someone that can hold the light around the brake light is helpful as well :rollin

so what is the actual law in california. Visible at 500ft or are you actually supposed to cut it out.

I think tint looks kinda ugly with the tail light cut out.

cut out if the deck it tight against, light doesn't come out easy, and I am not removing the deck. Otherwise I tint the whole window. Done right they look pretty good IMO.

For the hard to see ones, I have started using a piece of liner, taping it on the window over the light, mark it with my sharpie, and then flip it over the shrank tint to cut.

For the easy to see ones I use my sharpie to mark the line before I cut as to make sure the cut is what I want......
