Detail Training Question

I'm set at opening up my Mobile Detail bunsiness in a couple of months and wanted people's thoughts and experience on training. I have a good handle on the sales and marketing that'll be involved because that's the type work I've done for 10 years. I did detail cars (for someone else) for 2 years prior to going off to college so I know the hard work that it takes to fully detail cars. That was about 13 years ago and I'm sure there are many new techniques and equipment out there. So, my weekness in this business will be SKILL at first. I want to find a good quaility training progam that will focus on skill. Granted, I know I can't learn everything in 3-4 days but want to see the "professional" way of doing things. A good "crash" course on buffing, engine cleaning, shampooing the interior.etc..I haven't bought any equipment yet because I'm frankly overwhelmed with the information over the internet. But my first step is wanting a find a good quality training program to help me get started and be introduced to the new techniques. Any advice from someone that has went through a good training program and swears by it? I'd like to hear some negative thoughts too. I've reseached Detail King, Detail Plus to name a few...I'm out of Nashville, TN so the West Coast training programs are a little too far to drive for me..

There are many detailing programs out there you just have to reasearch and find the best one thats close to you, but glass on glass has the right idea. Go work for some one part time and learn the ropes, plus you will make money in stead of losing it!

I appreciate the replies..going to work for someone else, and then saying "hey, thanks for the refresher course, now I'm going to be your competitor"...I can't see that working out for me in "my" area...I just wanted some info from experienced peps who have been through training at Detail King, etc.,..thanks anyways though

My friend said to try this place. Guys name is Renny...

He said he keeps the classes small and well organized....

I think it's in the mid west, but not sure.....

Attention to Details

He also said that there are not many if any on the east coast that he would reccommend...

Hope this helps more than my first answer.... :beer:beer

I have heard very good things about attention to details classes, but have never taken it my self! Sometime you have to step on toes to get to the next step... thats my :thumb This happens in business all the time it just depends on the person who can run the system better!
