Does this film turn purple? Haven't heard much about the fading or color change of this product just adhesive failures? I need longivity results of this film in the midwest. Also, is there dye in the adhesive? Im referring to silouhette line

Downunder it definately colour changes to mauve not purple.

You would not be able to colour match a repair if the job was a few years old.

35% SP I'm referring to here.

took 7 years to start turning purple up here in our climate. had it on my sister's 4 runner and was able to keep track of it.

the 5% and 15% takes about 2 years to start distorting around here and 3-4 its purple and peiling.

thanks yall, is this a nice hybrid or a film one should stay away from , 7 years before turning purple doesn't sound as bad as many others out there. But 2 years & distorted adhesive

right. I dont know about your climate and location, but it's not a good film to use we were are at.

we have it on my GF van..It is just now starting to distort...just up around were the windows roll up into the frame...not really noticeable but I can see it..as for the color..still looking good that I can see..maybe a slight fading...it has been on here car for 3-4 years now...and out is the sun 24/7.

talked to the johnson rep today he says even though SP warranty doesn't state against fading & color change he said they will warranty it due to there new "100% customer satisfaction guarantee" also he says yes years ago it did turn purple after a period of time but since then (couple years ago) they have changed to the new color stable dye used in other films today. Can anyone back this
