that's what I keep hearing, but at the same time I keep hearing it isn't.

So until I see/hear/READ that after roll number [insert # here] it doesn't need to be edge sealed.......I WILL EDGE SEAL!!!!

Yes, VK-70 is low absorbing. VK40, not so much.

Sorry for this late reply to all of your comments. Our time zones are so different that while your a sleep, I'm awake and vice versa.

Anyway...thanks for all the info it has truly helped. Thanks darkdan for the details on V-Kool.

And, Yes I do live right by the beach. The concern with corrosion is important. If it's true that the product will in fact corrode over time, the investment that a hotel must make would really bite me later. Is it really true is will corrode? Anyone.

As for sealing the edge, this would just add more cost to an already high priced product. By the way, not sure if I'm allowed to ask, but what is the range for such products?

Thanks again all.

V-kool now has corrosion resistant films with no edge seal necessary. Seen the old, seen the new. It does exist.

Email me at m.bass.aplus@verizon.net, da beach.....

Or better yet, Call Tom King at 800 SUN2HOT---tell him Mark sent ya....

Yes it will corrode, I just posted a thread that talks about it. Yes it has to be sealed. No, if you're right on the beach just walk away because too much risk even with edge sealing. There are other products out there that are almost as good that don't require edge sealing.

VERY high range.

Huper Optik ceramics

Geoshield Ceramic

Madico ceramic

Johnson ceramic

They are high VLT films, with relatively low reflectivity, with good heat rejection and non-corroding

Thanks darkdan....as I've read on the details, it's too bad how the gold and silver metals keep less absorbtion over ceramic. But if the creamic types won't bite me later, then it's well worth a bit less heat reduction and more absorbtion.
