v-groove "french panes"

Recommended Posts

Saw some crazy windows today. They were about 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide, double pane, with the inside pane having about 10 inch french pane lines that were v-grooves in the glass. Smooth inside and standard single glass on the outside piece.

My question would be, since I didn't see any temper stamp, just how does that fit into the model where we have to watch for thermal stress and would it not be putting some crazy stress on those windows like they are alone???

I have refused to tint a storm door with that sort of v-groove around it before but, that customer wanted something dark though....

I have not been asked to do anything on these just wanted to fish the TD pond for any insight before I am asked to do any...
