For years before there was a bulldozer I used a clipboard or a 3 ring binder cover. Some binder covers are stiffer than others and they work very well because they have that vinyl covering on them making for a good squeegeeing effect.

cut a piece of your tint box to the desired shape and cover the edges with masking tape. It's ghetto but it can get you out of a bad spot
