I don't know what the rest of you do on the back glass, but everybody knows the spare & the wiper is in the way. after the first one I did, I decided pulling everything off was bullshit. I dry shrink, so I put powder all over, then wet the bottom half. get somebody to hold the wiper back, or use tape, and lay the film flat on the bottom half. smooth it out and all the fingers are on the top half, where nothing is in the way. heat shrink as normal. works great and is super fast to do. I just did one today and thought I'd post it. maybe somebody can benefit from it.

I usually just wet shrink those tie the wiper out of the way, but your way sounds like I might give that a try, I won't remove the spare to much time and hassle.
