so what's the best way of removing this guy? don't run into this much. I usually try to tint around them, but, there's got to be a way of getting this off without breaking or scratching the plastic. any advice would be much appreciated. thank you.

that's a gmc or escalade or ukon or sumpin. There is a torx to remove. Take the wire hiding peece off, loosen torx,slide up and rempove

Yep, if it's a GM, it will have a torx behind that plastic cover...

a really small flat screwdriver to gently pry on the passengers side of that plastic cover will expose the set screw and then you know the rest. I say to pop it on the passengers side just in case it does get a little nick. Also I have seen some of these where the set screw is right under the neck there and it is just deep in there. So look for that too.

this is a 2001 toyota tundra. never got a toyota with one of these before. oh well, there's a first for everything. seen something similar on dodge. usually just tinted around them but striving to be more professional (and take more time on an install) more and more everyday.
