How do you quantify what makes a great adhesive, by how long a company has been in business?

Talk about optics and 3M... the word "clear" should not be in the same sentence. Look at Prestige and Crystalline at an angle, hazy, colorshift is apparent. NR 35 is grainy compared to most, NV looks purple compared to other films...

Although 3m has been in business for so many years, many of their products are not the best around. The idea of brand recognition works well for them, with the logo on so many products. However, the more products your logo goes on, the less it seems that quality is the first concern. I have used it on and off for years or when spec'ed in a job plan. It is of good quality, but certainly not the best. IMHO.
