I have a friend with a chop top beetle...

He said you need sheet metal from more than one top to do it.

I do know they have to be sectioned and spliced together, the top gets wider as it gets lower...

I read an article about a body shop did a chop in Simi Valley,CA that you don't have to use two or more roofs..

By lowering the top and then rewelding it depending how low you want it..looks pretty good..and you don't have to cut up the roof in so many pieces...it was done on a 55' in the seventys.

Must not be to many customizers outthere reading this forumn.. Have not heard much.
