All depends upon how good the tinter is. Most companies would offer a good tinter 35% commission of whatever he does but I treat my guys really well and go beyond that percentage. I figure if you treat your employees with respect, they will reciprocate.

is that percentage based after deducting material costs from the income?

I was paid a flat rate when I worked for a tint shop for 2 months, commission will suck if there is no work, now if you had a deal for salary for 400 a week then if your commissions went over that you get that and if they did'nt you'd be guarenteed the 400!
