TintWizard
Is it or is it not true that the protective coating that keeps windsheilds in tact in the event of an accident has a UV coating in it unlike the rest of the glass? ..and if so is there any point in putting a UV shield film on for the sole purpose of keeping UV rays out ? flat rock stan
Wish I could be official buttt. I don’t think they filter much uva or uvb. I could be wrong on this. Did the google and it looks like aftermarket stuff for sale. I bet we get a official answer!
blade
it's my understanding that the laminate in windshields block around 95% of the UV rays.
blade
I should say "up to" 95%....it depends on the laminate in the windshield.
Ryker
I am sure they would have UV absorbers to protect the laminating adhesive just like our window films....and that will fade out just like our window films.... So, sell the UV films for them!
addicted to tint
If you put a uv meter under a windhield the reading says the windshield is effective.. Once you tint you have the best protection available so the improvement justifies install.
