Hi All

I was wondering how come "huper optik x3" returns 0 results in google? Is it a brand new product? I take it is an enhacement on there standard ceramic offering? Or it is just a new marketing name on the old ceramic stuff"? It baffles me how their can be no hits on google.

I notice X3 is on the main website but not on the USA site.

http://www.huperoptikusa.com/products_ceramic.cfm

The USA site mentions nothing about 3 layers just dual layer.

The main site goes on about X3 like its the greatest thing since sliced bread.

http://www.huperoptik.com/ProductsX3.html

I'm trying to figure out if its worth paying twice the price for Huper to fit on my apartment.

Also if you look at the two tables.. you can see the stats for dual layer and X3 are basically identical. So what's the deal?

PS apologies if this is not the right forum (my first post here)!

Yup I gathered that.. ;)

My question is what is the difference between Ceramic X3 and the USA Ceramic (Dual? x2 perhaps?), And why is no-one talking about X3?

I haven't heard about the X3 ceramic but I do carry the HO Ceramic films for automotive use at my shop. From the specs, it looks to be more reflective so I am assuming it is mainly used for commercial/residential glass instead of autos. But then again, the HO Ceramic films were never really intended for automotive use. :spit

Where does it say X3 is 3 layers? :sad

All I see is that X3 is a brand promise... not a brand new product.

Hüper Optik®’s core business philosophy is deeply rooted within our central Brand Promise:

Xcite – We excite the market with new technologies, ideas and possibilities.

Xcel – We excel as the industry leader through multi-local understanding and servicing of our customers by drawing fresh thinking from our enterprising team.

Xceed – We exceed expectations by leveraging nano-ceramic technology to become the window film of choice and bringing more comfort to life.

I am sure Vclimber will be here to answer to Huper :spit

I waited for you to do it first... :lol

Ok it doesn't specifically say 3 layers, but It says:

Hüper Optik® X3 nano-ceramic series are constructed with additional layers of Ceramic, where ordinary ceramic coatings commonly available in the market only have typically one layer.

The added layers allows the X3 range to outperform single-ply ceramics by increasing Infra-Red heat rejection and durability properties whilst lowering Visible Light Reflectance (VLR) to levels unattained by conventional ceramics.

So if it has additional layers (plural) then I inferred it must have 1 + 2 or more so a minimum of three. :lol

They also split X3 Ceramics and Ceramics into two categories. On their products drop down menu. It's rather confusing I must say.

I think your are trying to read into this too deeply. Huper has two types of ceramic films, a single ply (one layer) and a patented multi-ply (more than one layer). Do we need to split hairs on whether it is two or three or four? The difference is that the multi-layer ceramic is less reflective than the single-ply. You will find that Huper's International website has differing names for the same films... same stuff, same spec, different name for whatever the reason.
