Design request

I know there are some very talented graphic artists here and was hoping a few of you might help me with a new header image for the forum.

I'm looking for something that would look good against a black or white background.

Right now I'm using this one...

against a black background. The right side fades to black so that it looks OK no matter the browser window size. So I guess the width should be between 640 and 800 with either a white or black background or one where the right side fades to white or black (or another color depending on the design)

I'd be willing to pay a reasonable price for whichever one I wound up using.

Why mess with perfection? If it aint broke dont fix it. In other words, I like it....lol But I do understand the want to make a change or update the look.
