Nt's are way better. More refinement in blade length (per click), easier to extend the blade with a wet hand, more of a tapered end, and the blade locks both in and outward motion. What does the olfa do that is so great? The only great thing I recognize is that's its made in America which is important to me, but when it comes to everday use and reliability, the NT red dot is just second to none. :poke

I actually think that all the major suppliers, Olfa, NT and KDS, are made in Japan. In my opinion, they all have positives and negatives. I have found that most people are partial to what they learned on, but my observations are as follows:

Olfa: Knives are good, but the NT Red Dot is still the standard. Their blades hold an edge better than NT, but they are not as sharp out of the box.

NT: Red Dot knife is the industry standard. Their blades are sharper than Olfa out of the box, but they lose their edge faster requiring more snap-offs top retain good sharpness.

KDS: New company on the block. They seem to try and knock off Olfa and NT and sell at a lower price. They do have a decent SS blade that is comparable to the NT and Olfa at a lower price. I have not seen one of their knives that I would use over a Red Dot.

That is my :coffee
