ok, I scimmed the first page on the bmw section but to be honest, I know nothing about the whole "number" system goin on so for me to find what I was looking for was kinda....awkward. but thanks for the link I appreciate it

the numbering system is actually pretty smart. It refers to the cars "class" and then engine size. a 318 has a 1.8l, a 335 has a 3.5l, a 535 has a 3.5l, etc etc.

335d - 2.9td 269/282bhp

523i - 2.5 188bhp

535i - 3.0 twin turbo 300bhp

and so it goes on

the "c" eg- 320ci stands for coupe (also on cabrio as it is still technically a coupe) an "x" stands for 4x4 eg- 325ix 525ix X5 X3 X1 all 4x4, and back in the day "t" stood for compact eg 318ti always a compact never a saloon

lots of bmws dont actually refer to their badges

anyway the numbering system I think he is refering to is the design codes eg- 3 series e30 83-91, e36 3series 91-98, e46 3 series 98-05, e90 e91 e92 e93 3 series 06>, 5 series up to 96 e34, 5 series 96-03 e39, 5 series 03-09 e60/e61, mk1 X5 - e53, mk2 X5 - e70 etc etc

I think you can pull the tops back on those and lift out the rail.

I took out both star screws one in the door handle and on in the middle of the panel and it wasn't buding :thumb

why are you taking the door panels off?? if you have a carpet shield there's no problems.,. red devil helps if nothing else

I have Never taken a panel off a Bmw,,, never thought it was necessary

got this car in here, wondering how to take off the door panels....anybody?

there must be at lest 3 or 4 sets of instructions for removing those door panels on this site, im sure I wrote one of them
