With Soap film/ Dryer Sheet... whatever you prefer, on the bg, make your tack mark across the middle to lower section of the window.

58583_118813514841015_103876039668096_95129_614094_n.jpg

With your film laying across the bg with it tacked in the middle it will look like this.

58583_118813518174348_103876039668096_95130_3152451_n.jpg

Moving as many of your fingers to the top as you can, shrink the top portion of the window.

58583_118813521507681_103876039668096_95131_7543357_n.jpg

With the top portion shrunk, you are left with this at the bottom.

58583_118813524841014_103876039668096_95132_4711891_n.jpg

Lift the tint and spray the window down, smooth out the middle section from top to bottom. Once the middle is smoothed out, lift the sides and smooth the bottom part of the bg out using your hand push around the side and towards the top.

58583_118813528174347_103876039668096_95133_1715978_n.jpg

You should be able to smooth it out enough after dry shrinking the top so that it looks like this.

58583_118813531507680_103876039668096_95134_1881469_n.jpg

Start smoothing out the film onto the glass pushing down with your hand, frequently wet the glass so your hand wills slide.

58583_118813534841013_103876039668096_95135_7380285_n.jpg

This is about what it looks like after I finish heating it out with it wet.

58583_118813538174346_103876039668096_95136_2158117_n.jpg

Now I squeegee out the middle from top to bottom and pull everything from the middle of the bottom of the window, up around the side and to the top.

58583_118813541507679_103876039668096_95137_7265784_n.jpg

Same for other side....

58583_118813544841012_103876039668096_95138_8099687_n.jpg

Pulling the rest up towards the top.

60991_118813818174318_103876039668096_95139_4883662_n.jpg

Now cut... sorry this pic was upside down.

60991_118813821507651_103876039668096_95140_5844158_n.jpg

I cut the bottom edge and the sides really close but leave a 1/4 inch at the top. With the dove tail at the bottom of the glass, you will end up short on the inside if you don't leave a little extra.

60991_118813824840984_103876039668096_95141_2916214_n.jpg

Don't cut the defroster blocks out yet... The position will change significantly once on the inside.

60991_118813828174317_103876039668096_95142_7831243_n.jpg

Clean inside of the window, I usually lay in the hatch to do this.

60991_118813831507650_103876039668096_95143_1595562_n.jpg

Prepped the matrix with 1500 wet sanding.

60991_118813834840983_103876039668096_95144_1447745_n.jpg

Yep, reverse roll

60991_118813838174316_103876039668096_95145_7417126_n.jpg

Lay your film on the bg and start by smoothing out from the bottom of the window and pushing everything towards the top just like when you were smoothing it out on the outside.

60991_118813848174315_103876039668096_95148_8033558_n.jpg

Now squeegee down the middle from the bottom to the top of the glass and squeegee everything out from the middle to the sides and up towards the top.

58929_118814068174293_103876039668096_95150_1525800_n.jpg

Now cut your defroster tabs out on the inside.

58929_118814071507626_103876039668096_95151_4353034_n.jpg

58929_118814078174292_103876039668096_95153_1942828_n.jpg

Everything Squeegee'd out and the final product.

Thanks, sorry about the blur on some of the pictures. I think I had water on the lens after taking a shower in the hatch.

Also a good tip-Keep your mouth closed during the install, unless you like the taste of slip. :crazy

perfect.alot of people shrink the bottom,no need for it..

Every time I do one without shrinking on the bottom. it wants to flip off the glass on the inside. Some are worse than others but shrinking the bottom prevents it altogether. Maybe there's something I could do different when I squeegee it out but I'm not sure what.

Depends on the year. Though the glass looks the same the early models, through 95 and some early 96s needed more attention on the lower section and were also more of a pain. Seems like after 98 they became consistent from window to window. Still an easy window but early models did take more heat in the middle lower section and had more curve to the window. Later years were alway a breeze.

Another tip on these cars. If you know how to glue or use that method. Prep the back window and then run a bead of glue before spraying the window down for application. Apply as usual pushing the water to the sides more so then the bottom and then leave the hatch up for 20-30 min to keep the water from creeping back down. Leaves the dotted area much smoother. Same method works great for the vettes too. If your working solo then do the back first leaving the hatch up and then do the doors. Lets the water run away and will be ready by the time your finished.

That's true, I never really paid attention to what years were worse, just that there were some inconsistencies from year to year though. I could :dunno but it always seemed like the Camaro BG always has more tension on the bottom than the T/A.
