Finally found out what the problem is, a must read

Recommended Posts

First i like to say Thanks to everyone of you guys for helping out. I started tinting about a month ago, and i have been having lots of issues with Contamination, mainly small brown stuff. I was going crazy, because i was redoing almost every window 2/3 times. I just did not want to let the glass go with out looking Perfect/super clean.

Today, i was doing a friends Honda S2K. First try, it all went nice. I shaved the edges and everything, cleaned the glass and noticed the brown spot again. God, i was so pissed off, so i redid it. Did the pass side glass, and same thing again. So at this moment, i'm going nuts. Then, i walked up to the film handler. As, i was pulling the film down, i noticed something. Something which has been driving me crazyyyy.

Well, it was the brown thing. I cant tell if its dust or what but its in the film. So i took some pictures, i know the quality of the picture's are not great but if you look closely you will see it. This is on my 50% roll, i had the same issues couple weeks back with the 30%. After doing the glass two times, i called the customer and told him about it, and he said not to worry about it. But i did give him $20 discount. I'm not sure if its in the 20% or not, but if it is i dont think a naked eye could see it, because the film is darker.

what film are you using ?

Global QDP, Once you click on the link the picture shows up, if you click on the picture again it makes it bigger for a better view. The spot is in many different places. Like, i found one spot then Rolled the film down another 4 feet and didnt see any. What pisses me off is that, i have been going crazy thinking that im doing something wrong. That im not cleaning the glass right, or not handling the film right.

and to think I got dismissed when I suggested recently that, yes, sometimes it is literally IN THE TINT.

I lost my hair in the past month LOL, Thinking that im not cleaning the glass right or something. It suck's, it really does because so many times i redid windows because of that. Its in the 50% and 30%, im sure its in the 20% and 5% but cant see it, because the film is dark.

Its something you just gotta keep an eye on. Usually after a 2nd redo, I start checking bottles, the roll of tint, seals, etc. I've only been tinting for 8+ short months, but there have been a handful of times that the roll was contaminated.
