My Shop

Recommended Posts

I mentioned in another thread I'd throw up a couple pics of my shop now that I have it at least looking half the way I want it to. Still needs a lot. But right now it's exceptionally clean and clutter free, which is how I like it. Strange how it looks smaller to me in these pictures. If I remember correctly the dimensions are about 28'x34', could be 28'x32'. More than enough space for me, and way more than the place I had rented in the past.

Have to paint the new shelving next to the peel board white, have to paint the back of the peel board white and seal the edges, have to paint the shelving under the bench, put up peg board on the wall behind the bench, and put on all the electrical wall plates (and once the addition for 'cold' storage is done, the few pieces of equipment, such as the auto scrubber and pressure washers, along the one wall will be gone).

Also want to build a portable peel board for the one side. I'd also kind of like a flat trim table at some point in there, but that's for another time. Comments and suggestions always welcome!

Oh geez, way cleaner than mine. Im a magnet for clutter.

I'm on a mission to keep it this way... but it was cluttered horribly before (there was a lot of stuff being stored though, in it's defense). However I've never done a full empty out like this.

Probably helps that 4 hours before these were taken the place was completely empty from the floor being painted the day before :drive

I wanted to rubberize the floor like TW has done, and priced it all out, but decided that money could be better spent on other things this year. That'll be next spring. $75 bucks in cheap floor epoxy at least cleans it up for short term.

Looks really nice! Keep her clean it pays off.

I know! Almost every person that's pulled in so far has complimented how clean my space is. It's LIGHT years ahead of the competition when it comes to being a nice environment.

I know what I'd want the shop I get my car tinted in to look like (especially if it was a higher end vehicle), so I want my place to be exactly that.

Looks good mam! :dunno

Stay on top of the clean-up and it will be no problem. I have been cleaning up at the end of every day...sometimes if I have time, even between jobs...makes it easier to keep up.

I know what you mean about seeming smaller....my new place is 30' x 40'...and I am still wishing it was a bit bigger....oh well, it's big enough to have 2 cars in at a time...I don't think I really need any more than that. :lol

Last I used the can I wasn't a mam... :lol:lol

I stay on top of the daily stuff usually... it's just things collecting that you think you should keep or will need. Actually, for daily clean-up (scraps, paper towel, liners, etc) I've been using VIP's tip and throwing it all in the foot wells of the car I'm working on. Easy to grab in a bunch after, plus keeps you from messing up their rear floor mats when you climb in (if it's a new car). And means no picking up tiny pieces of wet tint off a wet floor.

One thing I'm going to do this week is run a trough under my peel board to a bucket at the side.
