I am sure this comes up all the time here...

got a new Malibu- want to tint it- the black interior is scorching in the hot WI sun... :dunno

educate me!

What I THINK I want:

1. very light actual color-

2. Mainly for UV/Heat blocking- not for darkness-

3. CANNOT be blue/purple at all- god i hate that look. (ceramic needed?)

4. is very clear

5. durable- wont scratch easily or get "hazy" and has warranty

6. wont break the budget

It this too much to ask?

I just have been lurking here and other spots and EVERYONE has a different tint-

up in East St Paul area if you know of any reputable shops.

Breaking budget is very subjective. Some of my favorites would be SunTek UltraVision or Carbon XP 50%, Johnson InsulatIR 50%, Llumar CTX or AirBlue 80 (what I have on all of my personal cars). I have used all of those with great success.

without talking prices too much- under 200 would be ideal.

you are prolly a bit low on that budget...for a ceramic you are probably looking at twice that amount...the nicer the film the more the cost...at your $200 budget you are pretty much limited to NR film...I don't even open my doors for $200 on a four door...no offense

3M colorstable will look blue. never used madico. have marathon on my wife's maxima, it does fairly well. I have carbonxp on my explorer front doors, johnson silhouette on the rear sides, and insulatIR on the rear window. i like the silhouette and the insulatIR. the carbonXP has already got scratches in the hard coat. for the money you're talking (and I'm not quoting a price) I'd look into the Llumar ATR or another hybrid (dyed/metallic) film.
