I got my 2005 subaru wrx tinted at a local shop the other day. When i came back to the car the tint had many small bubbles with some fluid in them, some even smaller bubbles in the corners with little specs in them and on the back window he put 3 separate pieces of tint that overlap/go over each other with a bubble where both ends meet. He said it was going to take him 5 hours to do all of this even though the car's side windows have no outside rail, since he still has to remove the door panel... I paid a pretty penny for him to get it all on..... i do not find these dust bubbles and water bubbles acceptable and even more so since they are not going away... the water ones have shrunk a lot but have left a residue.

Should i go back to this guy to get my money back to get it done right? Do all these problems sound like he was just a novice tinter?

water bubbles are normal to a degree, they should all be gone by a week at the most. As far as the specs of dirt go, a few specs here and there over the whole car are somewhat acceptable but if there are many specs in each window then to my oppinion its not acceptable. The back glass done in strips is amature in my oppinion.

takes massive skill to 3 piece a back...I can only do it in one...I suck!

I actually believe it is harder to do a rear glass in multiple pieces. Did it once on an eclipse glass, on defroster line so you couldnt tell.

post some photos up ! you will need to use photobucket as your a new user.

most water bubbles will dry unless they are real big. whats the weather like right now ? so many factors.

3 piece back window on wrx means either they are not real good with heat shrinking or the film is not shrink friendly.

but without seeing photos showing the problems no one can tell you if its a bad job or acceptable job and it will dry or not
