Recommended Posts

Installer scrubbied defrost lines with white scrubby pad and standard cleaning techniques. When he layed film up and started squeegie the water out he found dookey bits and defrost line debris everywhere

Is this a known issue?

Anyone have this happen to them?

Here is a pic when he removed the film that was only on the glass for 1 minute

Check the brand on the glass. I have seen SOME contamination from the very thick defroster line cars, like the lines have dust in them, but it's usually not much of an issue. 300 usually is a non-issue, so that would be pretty odd.

It's happened to me on a new Challenger and a few other cars that where close to new!! Just a defect i would assume. Nothing you can do about it except show the customer and either have them take it back to the dealership and have it replaced or scrap it all off and tint it!!

I'm not sure if it is the same thing but I had to strip a couple back windows on chryslers and the defroster came off with the film in some spots. I believe it is just a defect. It also happened on a same year Mercedes which is the same glass
