Hi, need to tint about 30 small and large windows in my home in DFW area, an light colored brick home..

what looks better..suntek bronze 20 or Ultravision 40..I like the clarity and clear grey blue appeal of UV 40, but would want more glare and heat reduction..

It depends on what you are looking for .Bronze is nice because it has a less noticeable hue compared with like a silver 20% film, but has a lot of glare back at night . It is great for heat and glare reduction though , and offers nice daytime privacy . Its more based on what your criteria is for what you want the window film to do , and what you can live with as far as daytime and nighttime appearance.

looks are going to be up to you and what you like. My personal oppinion is 20% bronze is better for commercial applications for the most part, although some people like the 20% bronze for residential. If you want more glare and heat rejection then you will want the bronze but for what I think looks better I would go with the 40%.

what would you recommend for a high end home?

I am not planning to cover these windows with any blinds or drapes..looking for the best film which offers optimum energy efficiency, clarity and color (if it exists)

thanks

as far as what film is best you are going to get alot of differnt oppinions, I am with a distributor and we sell hanita window films, and of course I would recommend our films but there are some other factors involved as far as which direction the windows face and if reflectivity is a concern for you. We have an optitune 22 that blocks 67% of the total solar energy but its not as mirrored as a 20% bronze and has more of a neutral gray hue to it and has great optical clarity.

folks, I had films installed on my windows by a professional. When you observe them from up close, you can see there is a clearance of about 2-2.5 mm between edge of the film and window frame. The service provider says that is what the manufacturer recommends. Film is suntek drds. Is this correct information? To me it seems like the edge of the film should be right next to window frame.

Thanks for your advice

It cant be that close. The blade on the knife we use has a certain thickness so there will always be just a tiny gap on the frame/film.
