Hi, I'm looking to have one of the two products installed in my home. Approximately 318 sf. My main problem is the front of the house where I have direct west facing sun in the summer. I office there and have the dining room and two bedrooms on that side of the house also. The main real question I have is curb appeal of these two products with their high reflectivity (high rise ) appearance in a nice neighborhood. It's a 1994 home with the same windows. Seem to be about 1/4 in double pane so I'm not worried about warranty. Also has three arch windows and two main windows are 6 x6 ft. Lots of light. I don't want to turn the house into a dungeon though.

Would love to hear some comments on these two products and my choice.

3M Night vision 15 vs 25

Thanks,

Jim

I've done a lot of research and narrowed it down to NV. I want to stay w/3M and cost is one reason for their NV product vs the prestige. Another is the greatest heat reflectivity.

LLumars DR series is available in 15%,25%, 35% and maybe even 45% still . Madico's DG-35 is also a nice choice. Solargard has a product called true view available in 5%, 15%, and 35% (?). The point is , dont buy film just because of a name you know. Shop around . All of the companies I named have comprehensive warranties with their products . Its who is installing the film is whats important.

On the NV I mentioned I can get it installed for $7.50 per sf

Your price should not be hard to match IMHO .

Most people would prefer the look of the NV25 to the NV15. NV25 is not very reflective, NV15 is not just darker than NV25, it is also more reflective. Most people would not like the look of NV15 on their homes, the tradeoff is that NV15 blocks more heat and glare than NV25. That said, there are also other options - some would be less noticeable than NV25 on the windows, as other people have posted.
