I agree with blade 50% is usually safe. there are other variables too though shading, window treatments, age of glass, regular glass vs. tempered can all play a part in how the glass will react when ole mr. sun hits it. and it's still a bit of a crap shoot cause if the edge of the glass has a defect in it you might be SOL with an even lighter film.

Yeah, what the other guys above said. In addition, if any one ever comes across a room darkening cellular shade, the kind with aluminum inside it, if its a tight fitting inside mount shade, be careful. That shade cuts and traps a ton of heat, add film to it, and it can be a great recipe for broken glass.
