c10seven
I just wanted to drop in ans say hi. I will be doing a lot of lurking, searching and reading I already see there is a decent amount of new terminology I need to pick up on. I have done five of my personal trucks and a few for friends (using Gila) and enjoy the process but honestly would like to improve my abilities. I stumbled across this site doing a google search for a better film, I know Gila is junk and started reading so I figured I'd register. I have had many friends ask me to do their cars, but have always been afraid to do rear windows on cars, well I am ready to try it. For the time being I am just looking to get a better quality film than "autozone special" and practice on family and friends cars to hone my skills. At some point down the road if all goes well I would like to get a business license and open a shop and, heck, maybe quit my day job(I am a piping designer by trade, I do 3D cad design for petro chemical plants). So having said that trying to get a job in an established shop is not an option for me. If anyone has suggestions on what films to use to practice/learn or any other general suggestions/advice that would be greatly appreciated. As for film I don't want cheap, but I don't want to break the bank ether, as I will be doing quite a bit of jobs on my own dime to learn. I initially was looking for Llumar when I stumbled across this site, but upon reading I think my chances of getting some w/o a business license are very slim, plus price would be kind of high for "practicing". Also I am not looking to jump in over night, I plan on collection supplies over a few months and my first "job" will be re doing my own truck. Thanks in advance for any help. PS: please any run on sentences, horrible grammar and miss spelled words and that is not a Strong suit of mine. Jacob
