what makes a good trainee ?

My main tinter is leaving in september and been looking to train some one. I have gone through 2 people that i literaly kicked them out the door for being lazy and late all the time . They come in withthere sob stories and feel they are so bad off they will appreciate a job?

this is what i came up with .

should be over 21

look energetic

church goer helpful

mechinically inclined

i was thinking of giving them an IQ test . I find the ones that cant catch on dont seem very smart . With heat shrinking . computercut and having an experienced tinter it isnt hard to learn .

Just need some with a little ambtion .

Some one that listens, is keen to learn, does not get dispirited easily and is able to take criticism.

I dont think being a church goer will have any impact on them being trainable. Iq test isnt a bad idea,maybe a drug test. A drug addict wouldnt be a very good employee. I may catch some crap for this but I wont hire a smoker, I get so damn tired of the countless smoke breaks. The same excuse all the time, I need it to calm down. Generallysmokerstake way more breaks than non smokers. I have also had customers complain that it smells like someone smokedin their car when the employee just smoked one and put it out andstill had the half of a cig he didnt smoke in his pocket when he pulled the car out and handed the customer their keys.

thats becuse in florida everyone under 25 smokes weed. I had a church goer a few years ago and always n time never a hangover and no drugs. You just have to put up with every question you ask them some how ends up with religion and god in it

I have an older brother that lives in orlando thats always wanted to learn, but he wanted to learn flatglass, i dont think he'd be intrested in auto at all. He buys/sells cars at the auction there but he has alot of free time where he could do a side gig..

Nothing wrong back in the day when I smoked we would smoke 3 or4 a week and they were pin size joints .now they smoke 4 or 5 aday and they smoke cigar size splits . It screws with ur mind when u smoke that much. I guess weed is cheap in Florida.

when you hire someone tell them theres no pay for 1 month kinda a probation if they stick it out they must really want to learn.
