charging your corny tank

Recommended Posts

I have been playing with this idea ever since I looked into running a corny tank over a pump sprayer.

While I just pieced this thing together a few days ago. I am currently testing it to see just how safe it might be.

And I was wondering if any of you guys have messed with charging your corny tanks with Co2 instead of compressed air.

I made this out of an old remote line I had for my paintball gun. And modified it to charge my corny tank.

After about a 30 sec to 1 min charge it had enough preasure to use over half the water in the tank before it really lost a workable preasure.

Any input on using this good or bad would be great. If this seems to work I also have a small compressed air tank that hold 3000 psi as well. Not that an air compressor doesn't work, but this thing charges a tank crazy fast. :thumb

Seriously? I guess its alot heavier than air? How much does that tank cost? It only takes a couple minutes with a cheap compressor and its not like you fill it everyday unless you making bank :D. If it works for you though then thats what matters :spit

thats just the reason for doing this. Some jobs I'm on minutes count. And it can take a cheap compressor about 5 minutes to charge my tank. This way for real just a few seconds.

The Co2 tank costs about 5 to 8 dollars to have it filled depending on the size of the Co2 tank and where I get it filled. The thing with Co2 is that it is unlike air in the sense that it continues to expand as you use up water from the tank. Not that this may be practicle for everyone. If it proves to be safe. Then it is for sure a faster way to charge your tank.

Go High Tech ... and get a small regulator ...set it to 50lbs. and make a bracket to strap that C02 tank to the side ...constant, consistent pressure

Installing with seltzer water ...might be on to something ...might be onto making a giant club soda :beer

Thats why I put this on here. To find out if anyone had ever tried this before. I also have a compressed air tank that would charge my corny as well. However I am alittle scared to try it. My C/A tank hold roughly 3000 P.S.I., and I'm not realy sure if it would even be safe to try to charge my corny with. Or if it might blow the dam thing apart. Using the Co2 doesn't seem to make my slip all foaming if thats water you are thinking about the seltzer. I just like the tought of an almost instant way of charging my corny instead of waiting 5 min's for the compressor. At the same time I don't want to blow the side out of my tank. :deadhorse
