I never take it all the way to the edge. I know alot of guys here like to shave doors, but I have seen them start to roll back after many years.

If done correctly, there is no difference between a shaved and gapped edge. I have had only 1 door come back in 7 years because of a peeled edge. I don't think that it was a install issue either, but a custy issue. :dunno

Personally, unless the customer requested shaved edges specifically then we shave all edges and if for any reason it doesn't come out just right we put a 1/16 or less gap. I've only had to do it once recently when I didn't notice the edge of the glass was was chipped and looked like a wash bored. as I was surfing my blade caught it and took a nick out of the edge just as I was about finished. :dunno
