why do some put alcahole in there slip

I have heard a few people say they add a little bit of alcohol to there slip solution. Is there a reason for this? Also is it best to have a lot of slip? And what is your prefer j&j Mix?

In extreme cold conditions (canada per say) you can add alcohol to help the film tack up faster and i suppose not freeze up on you.

everybody is going to be different you just have to do what works best for you.

Waaaay up north here we have never put any alcohol in our solution

If the water freezes, it freezes... not like there is a huge film demand when it's minus friggin' freezin' forever in the winter

I would add alchohol to my solution when hanging security film in the winter time to help it tack a little faster and it helps speed up the drying time. Thats the theory behind it anyway!

I add an oz or two to my tanks to keep the smell out of my lines, The city water will grow algie in them if i dont, I have lines ran in my ceiling and retractable are hoses hanging,
