Glass cleaning expertise needed

Recommended Posts

This has nothing to do with tinting. I have saltwater aquariums. I am working on setting up a 265 gallon and there is a problem where I removed one of the overflows. There is a distinct line where the silicone was that held in the overflow, along with what looks like some oxidation. This is standard half inch non tempered glass btw. I cannot get this stuff to come off. I have tried the following so far...

razors, steel wool, acetone, denatured alcohol, muratic acid, magic eraser, lime juice, lime away. I am telling you nothing is working. Could this just be etched into the glass and never come out? Any ideas?
