Prestige Clear Guard PPF

I just had a new clear installed onto my Prius and the installer used a film called "Prestige Clear Guard," which is made by Prestige Film Technologies. In my e-mail exchange with Prestige films, I was told that this film carries a seven year warranty and is 8.5 mil thick. The installer said the film uses something similar to the embedded clear coat technology featured by NanoFusion.

The film that I previously had on my Prius was Ventureshield Ultra. As a comparison, the Prestige Clear Guard is significantly better in terms of clarity. However, I still can't find much info on the Prestige film, but I am happy with the install. I have attached some pictures of the installation. I wonder if it is a private label film that has been reboxed.

Does anyone have any experience with this film? I plan to keep the film clean and use XPEL's ppf sealant twice-a-month. Thanks.

Here are some pictures:

Did you get a warranty card? Please post. Who is backing the warranty? Where is the company? Where is the film made?

No warranty card from the manufacturer, though I did exchange e-mails with the film manufacturer for my own research purposes, so I know they exist, lol. My understanding is that Prestige Film Technologies is backing the warranty for 7 years. Not sure on the other details, aside from what you can find by googling “Prestige Clear Guard.” However, my receipt from my installer does mention a “lifetime warranty” on film and labor that covers all issues aside from normal wear and tear and yellowing.

I think I may have taken a bit of a risk on this one, but my installer is one of the largest on the west coast, if not nationwide, so hopefully they will be around to honor a claim if it happens. I’ll just maintain the film meticulously with weekly washes and weekly applications of XPEL’s ppf sealant and hopefully it will stay looking like new, unlike the Ventureshield Ultra I had before.

There are only so many people who make PPF. I would hope a Google search for "Prestige Clear Guard" and "Prestige Film Technologies" would generate a company website but it didn't, that seems a little odd.

Perhaps you can supply that info for us to check them out a little. I'll reserve me thoughts until then.

This is the reply I received when I sent the company an e-mail.

"The product is actually not new. It has been on the market since 2006 in Europe and Asia. We have only recently launched our North America division in 2010. The product is 8.5 mils thick, with a clearcoat, and comes with a 7 year warranty from bubbling, fading, peeling, and cracking. We currently have 3 main distributors in the USA. Premier is one of our largest dealers and arguably the best installer in this market, so you have chosen the right company to work on your vehicle.

The sealant should work just fine on this film. Check with the installer (I'm assuming it is Premier), they should be able to give you the details on the film.

Thanks Jeff. I see that you guys shipped my order today. And yes, the installer was Premier. They really didn't have any literature on the film for me, unfortunately.

Their website is not working for me, perhaps their server is down?

Where is Prestige based out of?

I have not had any success with their website either, for months. Certainly doesn't inspire confidence, does it, lol.

Not entirely sure where they are from, but someone on another forum said the film was made in Japan?
