Hi

Im new to tinting i did a 5 day course which made me feel confident that i could go and start my own mobile tinting business.

However since the course i have tinted my own car an audi a3 which came out ok, a mates saloon BMW which came out badly to say the least and attempted my mates mk4 clio which as im sure you can guess was even worse.

Orignally i wanted to start my own company doing mobile tinting but have since realised that there are loads of things i need to learn and get used to before i can even think about doing it.

And as i have also ran out of money now (after getting a large loan to try and start a business) im looking for anyone that is interested in taking on a hard working apprentise.

I know the chances of this a slim but im running out of options so had to try.

I live in Bromley south London and im willing to travel.

Before anyone else says it yes i know it was stupid to get a big loan and think that after a 5 day course i could start my own business but when your stuck in a s**t job for years and realise you have to try something, anything seems like a good plan at the time.

You will be lucky to find anyone willing to train their competition, What I would do is get a job, any job, and practice as much as you can doing friends and neighbours cars and keep going until you are confident.

Training courses are only the start, it is practice, practice, practice from now on.

If someone was to take you on, teach you, get you up to standard, you got confident, what would your next step be?

Turn around and try and be there competition ????

Sit back and look at the question you have just asked, this is not negative, far from it, just constructive, i wouldnt say you where stupid for loan etc etc, i would say fair play to you

Hi mate,

I used to go with a guy who was a pro in tinting (mobile tinting) back in 2007, but left as I got promotion. Now i'm trying to get back and trying like you.

If you want, you can link up with me and try and learn further from each other.

If interested call Ricky on 0754 200 7878

Your best bet is to learn on the job, after 3 to 5 years if you want to start your own, move to another town (honorable thing to do) then start your business. Starting a business in the same town that got you to a higher skill level is just dirty. In the meantime research everything concerning running a small business. Its a nice goal to have just don't try to do it overnight.

Hi thanks for the replys.

I know i would be very lucky to get someone that would train there competition but i wouldnt do that to anyone anyway. I would either start up in a different area or what i would really like to do is work with someone out of my area and then set up my own company in my area.

"Just specialise in hatch backs, learn the basics first. " that seems like a good idea but the whole time im only doing hatch backs im not getting any better at doing saloons.

The company i did the training with do offer support but they are miles away and someone explaining things over the phone will be hard, however they are doing a free seminar which they have invited me to and im going to do that so hopefully that will help alot.

In my view the hatchback advice is quite sound as it will build up your confidence and the more you do the better you will become.
