The OP was looking for pics and I had this movie.

I would suggest requiring a mock up window caulked by the the prospective caulking sub contractor. Watch them and see their application and subsequent final product.

Solx , You must have run into someone unaware of GSA specs. If you use the right tools you can get the required 3/4 in. bead perfectly flat and symmetrical . All the gov'mt . jobs I have done ( which are highly scrutinized) were taped and tooled. I have seen the concave jobs you are talking about ... not right.

I'm surprised it was spec'd with 1/2" bead ??? Nice video.

I'm not knocking your work, but I was trained with the understanding the 995 had to be tooled to insure that there were no voids in the wet glaze. As far as the concave bead goes it sound to me like you saw someone using the wrong trowel.

3/4 in. Bead is the key (only after material is dry) or anchoring system needs to be used if you can’t run a nice bead
