chart for tinting over factory smoked glass??

Has anyone seen a chart to give a guess as to what combining tint to factory smoked glass will come out to. E.G> put 50% tint on factory 20% would =????

the math will say one thing, but your eyes will say something else for the most part. I say that adding 50% film to anything make no real difference. I have about 7 layers of 50% on a small audio player in the bedroom.. It was so bright and annoying that I needed something. I had some 50% laying around and started putting small pieces on it. It might be the same as 20% in all honesty for the light it blocks....

if you are installing 50% film on 70% glass 50x0.70=35%. im pretty sure thats the formula

So the formula says but actual outcome usaully is not that albiet close but not real world numbers.

it holds true when combining darker films. However if you add a layer of 70% to a piece of glass that is already 50%. You will only bring the VLT of the glass down to around 40% to 43%, it will not be 35% like the formula says it will be.

Newer GM trucks with a stated VLT minimum of 70% on front windows. Metered at 75% then applied 20% Suntek HP which should net a 15% actually metered at 18% close but not perfect. There is always a margin of error or tolerances basically.

Try to meter just a piece of film off your roll. That 20% will read anywhere from 23% to 18% depending on manny and series of film you have. Not to mention all meters say allow +/- 3%.

You also have to take into consideration the VLT of the actual glass itself
