Jake
I use it also. I was thinking the same thing today. Smells like finger nail polish remover to me.
Guest Sidewinder
I just use 3M 8984 adhesive remover, followed by iso alcohol. Never tried an 'edge prep' product.
pro-tect mobile
Yeah I have tried it.. it works but I cant say its 300% more tacky... which I tink is what is claimed. I have found IPA works well for me... so I stick with that.
Guest Invisibra.net
If using a kit, it's rarely used. I could not push the limits on my custom installs without it.
XPEL Jeff
It is actually quite a bit more effective than a clean surface and alcohol, but the strength of the edge prep depends on how much is used and how quickly the film is squeegeed down. If you apply it liberally and lay the film down within 30 seconds, it will really grab the surface aggressively. If you apply a little bit or wiat a few minutes, you will notice a difference. If you don't lay the film down within about 10 minutes, you will lose the benefit almost completely. It saves a lot of time on wrapping edges! pro-tect mobile
Well that explains why I didnt notice a difference. I was probably waiting too long to wrap the edge to get the benefit. Guess I should have read the instructions.
Speed
You are supposed to wait 15 seconds for it to set up.
twotint
You can use pro bond also it seems to work nicely. 3m adhesive promoter isn't tacky enough for ppf in my experience. I haven't tried the xpel stuff since I have pro bond for wrapping edges.
