Let me set the scene....A huge home job in clear 100 micron safety film and the joint has never had a coat of paint or any maintenance EVER in its life and the custy bitched about a bit of dirt on an edge of a timber frame that is rotten with putty that has gone to stone and falling out everywhere.

"Watch the frame with your water because termites have nearly eaten through the woodwork" notes the custy.

Despite precutting every piece and making a template out of the film on the glass prior to fitting to get a job as clean as is possible, he still griped.

The panes were nearly falling out so you can imagine what we as installers have to go through.

Times like this you want to throw your squeegee to the wall.

You sir , have more patients than me. I don't think I could have dealt with that kind of job along with that kind of customer. One or the other , yes . The 2 combined , I would have thrown my squeegee, but not at the wall.

crusty old wood frames are hard enough for solar film. I think I would have turned that job down myself, or charged them through the nose.

Hang a test panel before you start the process so both you and the customer know what to expect.
