Help! VW 2012 Passat

I cant seem to get the bulldozer behind the brake light, what do you guys use?? and also it us better to take the whole back shelf off?

You have to remove the rear deck on newer Passats and Jettas.

I don't pull the deck. I use a side swiper to get as far down as possible. I have 2 conquerers that I shaped with a heat gun one for left and the other to go right to do the bottom. Works good for me.

Yeah I just did it with a conquerer, it turned out well. The rubber seal on these things dont want to come out at all.

Take some aftermarket felt and place a strip on the end of a clip board and use it to slip behind those close-to-the-glass brake lights; just be sure the clip is facing the deck when you squeegee (this is neanderthal days of tint tool development).

my tool of choice too . Good old $5 clipboard . I actually have 3 each different thicknesses .

As easy as the rear deck comes out, it makes for an easy rear 1/4 glass install too. I pull them. At least on Passats but I can't say we've had a newer jetta in recently.
