He probably means XJL  same body as above, but yes, the back glass is a pain. 3rd brake light touches the glass and doesn't come out. 

so do you have to cut the light out? nothing looks worse then a cutout brake light..

 

looks like a tight space to work on the back window. like the a5

There's a couple posts on them in the Jag section, it is possible to remove the rear deck, just tricky and time consuming. I've done and XF and an XJ, if there isn't a seat fold down release, look for hidden latches with no pull cables (XF was this way) or hidden pull cords under the back seat (XJ)

XF was easy to remove sweeps but XJ was very tough. Just quote a ton, worse case scenario, and tell him if it's easy it will be less.

double glazed all round, need to remove seat base, then side c post trims, then pull forward rear set back and remove trims and plastic clips, the whole process takes a about an hour to remove shelf. only way the rear light is touching the glass and is about 5" deep
