i found this from 3m.The ultra violet (UV) protection that we use in our proprietary adhesive system is not indefinite, but we design our window films to maintain high UV protection throughout their lifetime. In fact, we tested an actual glass sample from The Dumbarton House, Washington,DC, and the ultra violet transmission still measures <1% after 10 years! 

 

Are the UV inhibitors just in the adhesive........... :nope

so am i right in thinking if the color fades the uv inhibitors will still be effective and still giving around the 99% protection? unless there are some in the actual tint itself ie the color of the film
