Two piece w/s strip?

Any of y'all using a template for these?  I've tried and it just don't even out.  Im talking about the windshields  that have big black center that has to be cut around.

This is a two piece w/s. Lay it down as one piece so the strip is even and cut to fit.

That's what Im trying to avoid lol.  Ive got lots of templates (I do more trucks than anything) and it eliminates me crawling on the truck.  The new Dodge and Chevy are the most popular around here and they are the one's that changed.

Set it up on the outside, cut it out black included. Mark the four places on the outside of the windshield with a sharpie or grease pencil. Do one piece at a time, should line up perfect.

That's what Im doing.  I want to be able to use the liner from the two pieces for a template.  Ive tried it and the two pieces don't match up.  Just trying to save a step or two.

You can always use the longer side to cut both. Then when you install the 2 pieces, which ever one is too long, cut it on the inside towards the mirror to fit.

I use a liner from a door glass, mark it for the vehicle, then lay the film back to back and cut the pieces.  If one is shorter lay it on the top and remove the bottom piece then cut the final cut for the second piece....

 

Love these new windshields like this...so much quicker.

I mark mine with sharpie before i even trim it out. Havent had a crooked one yet.

I'm not getting this whole thing. I use the factory edge and a tape measure...what's so difficult about a windshield strip? I don't get it

I'm right there with ya... I prefer 2 piece.
